Compensation of Estate Trustee

The estate trustee is generally entitled to compensation amounting to approximately 5% of the estate, during each year of administration. That amount can be varied up or down, depending on the amount of work actually done by the estate trustee. If there is a will, the testator (the person executing the will) may limit the trustee’s compensation, as a condition of the appointment.
