Filing of Tax Returns

The estate trustee is to prepare the final year’s income tax return and make sure that tax returns for all previous year have been filed. The estate trustee will also be required to prepare a tax return for the period of estate administration. Prior to distributing all estate assets, the estate trustee will apply for a Clearance Certificate from the Canada Customs and Revenue Agency, to certify that no further taxes are owing.
